After renting a place to stay and carpooling, wouldn’t it be great to enjoy a nice
barbecue with friends? Picture a Saturday afternoon with beers in hand, a
large table where friends and family can gather, and games to keep your
kids entertained. Do you live in an apartment? Are you staying at your uncle’s house—someone you
barely know? No, you’ve rented a grill from Grill.
To allow people who want to host a party to have access to a BBQ without having to buy one. To allow people who own a BBQ to rent it out and earn income when they aren't using it.
In the app, I designed a user journey that’s similar to what people are used to in their favorite sharingapps (Blablacar, Airbnb, etc.). It helps users get up to speed more quickly.

To define the expected features for“Grill,”I worked with two groups of individuals using a questionnaire: People in my circle (family, friends, coworkers, etc.) Anonymous people who are members of Facebook groups I identified three personas.
Following up on the work on the user flow and the definition of personas, I developed the application’s wireframes. The work was carried out iteratively, with three iterations over time based on feedback from user testing.

Alongside the creation of the user interface (UI design), I decided to build a robust design system to enable rapid development of the application. This step was essential and saved me a lot of time by allowing me to design the application using “blocks.” The Design System was created using Sketch. I chose to use a “grid” to accommodate the specific screen dimensions of mobile devices.

Here is the“Grill”app, which was designed for iOS and Android. You’ll find all the screenshots, as well as a specific screenshot with usage guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Grill logo is designed to be simple and arranged in an offset pattern, much like ingredients placed on a barbecue grill. For the colors, I drew inspiration from the colors of the ingredients typically eaten at a barbecue, as well as the color of the flames from a fire.

Grill is a new, successful project that has allowed me to tackle all aspects specific to mobile apps.
